ABOUT US
Since 'House of Osman Ghani' was established in 2001, we have had the honour of shooting all over the world, with a portfolio of celebrities, high profile individuals such as...Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Mahima Chaudhry, John Abraham and many more.
What we love most is photographing weddings and special occasions, because these are moments that will be cherished by a family forever. With a background also in fashion design, we have a keen eye for detail and believe strongly in documenting an event in a candid, unobtrusive manner. We know only too well the amount of time, sentiment and effort that goes into planning any special occasion. It then becomes our responsibility to capture every little detail in a timeless fashion. Our photographers, therefore keep the equipment and lighting to a minimum, ensuring discretion at all times.
Our focus is to capture the true essence of a bride, whilst making the couple feel completely relaxed and natural in front of the camera. It is always a joy getting to know our clients ahead of the day and it only adds to the fun and laughter we have whilst we shoot.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Where are you based? Do you travel worldwide?
We are based in London (UK) and we travel all across the world to shoot weddings. Some of our best weddings have been shot in locations like Dubai, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Italy, Portugal among others.
2. What is the typical team strength that will be traveling to cover my wedding?
We usually have a minimum of 2 photographers (candid and documentary style). The crew works as one coherent team with different cameramen specialising in different lenses and styles.
For a larger scale wedding, we recommend 3-4 photographers as this is necessary to capture the grandeur of your wedding. This choreographed, multi-camera setup allows us to position ourselves strategically to capture ceremonies more naturally as they take place, without any hindrance.
3. Can we also have additional photographers along with your team?
Sorry, we absolutely do not recommend it. Apart from being uneconomical, it may obstruct and tamper with our work. The advantage of a single team is that we will get clean, unobstructed visual frames without local photographers jumping into our frames and ruining the moments.
4. Apart from the photography costs, what are the other costs to be kept in mind?
The expenses for the travel, food and accommodation for the crew members are usually borne by the client unless decided otherwise or factored in as a package deal. Any additional days / hours of shooting (not mentioned in contract) are charged extra as per the rates in the contract. There are no other hidden costs.
5. What is a pre-wedding shoot and how do we go about it?
A pre-wedding shoot is a photo shoot of the couple done before the wedding that portrays the bond they share with each other. Since the wedding is a hectic time to be together, the couple get this day off with each other to shoot some "Relaxed, Together & Fun" images and these can be used for display on screens during the reception. A typical pre-wedding shoot lasts between 2-3 hours.
6. What are the common deliverables that we can expect as part of the package?
In the standard package, we deliver all the edited digital photographs that include both candid and documentary style. All photos are delivered on a USB drive. There is a large collection of albums that we offer, which vary in size, format, cover options, paper options etc. Most of our clients opt for images on disk, initially and then go for an album after the wedding. But you can add albums to your package if you wish.
7. What are the number of photographs that will be provided in the package? Also the total number of edited photographs and the format in which they would be provided?
It's difficult to determine the total number of images we will be shooting over a typical two or three day wedding. Approximately 3000-4500 images are expected to be shot during a typical three-day wedding. All images are given to the client in high resolution JPEG format on a USB (digital delivery) and all the images are colour and exposure edited. The images are shot both in candid and traditional style.
 8. During the wedding, who do we communicate with regarding all our photo & video requirements?
The Director of Photography is usually the prime point of contact with the family. He/she is the sole person that co-ordinates with the couple and the event planner regarding all aspects of the events and conducts interviews etc. Also, from the couple’s side, we need to have a singular point of contact for all wedding shoot co-ordination. The bride's / groom's siblings or the best friends are the best people for the job.
9. Are there any specific requirements in terms of venue/stage lighting and other aspects of the setup for the best photo results? How can we ensure that the photography team has the best resources at hand to create magic?
Good lighting is a pre-requisite for great photos. If a few simple things are taken care of at the planning stage, the job is half done. Go for natural lighting instead of tinted hues and ensure that the stage, mandap etc. are well lit especially in the night. The spatial design should be such that it allows the crew to cover the event from multiple angles for a good variety in footage - always advise your planner to keep in mind the space needed by photographers in case of over-crowded events. It’s a good idea to have some extra time at hand before each event for couple shots - it doesn’t take more than 10-15 minutes, but ensures that the couple has some stunning portraits before the hair, makeup and outfits make their way to the dance floor - to never come back the way they were!
10. What is a copyright? Can you use our images and footage on its social media handles?
All original works of art, including pictorial and video works have a copyright protection. This means that the creator of an image/video (in this case, House of OsmanGhani) owns the copyright for the same. Hence, we can use any images/videos on our social media channels for any purpose that we deem suitable. Naturally, these images portray the clients in good light and more often than not, such social media posts are a matter of pride for all the clients and vendors involved. If the couple do not want their images/videos to be shared publicly, this has to specified explicitly at the time of signing the contract.
